Minutes of the General Meeting held on Monday November 3, 2014
The meeting was called to order at approx. 8:04 p.m. - on-line Moderator/Chair. – Vice President: Christine Burton


Attendance (12 members): Jenny & Michael Catton, Francine Gillanders, Paul and Judy Wilcox, Kim Long, Christine Burton, Karen Parton, Bernice Langley, Sandra Beck, Anne McDougal, Lillian Wainwright

 

Minutes: 

Christine: Did everyone receive their minutes?  If so any errors or omissions? Could I have a motion to approve the minutes?

Business Arising From the Minutes – None
Treasurer’s Report – Kim Long

  • Kim: 09/31/14 - Balance 10,625.36. 
    • Debits - $19.00 Service Charge ($17.00 Monthly Plan Fee, $2.00 Paper Statement fee).  
    • Credits -  Membership - $115.00 , Donation - $40.00. Perpetual Trophy - $20.00, Exchange on US cheque -  $8.23.
    • Balance 10,789.59
  • Kim moved her report,    
  • Bernice: Kim,  have never received an  invoice for award last  year.
    • Kim: I will send it to you Bernice.  The paper I have is not complete so I am still looking for names.
    • Jenny: Thanks Kim for giving Treasurer's report with disbursements and deposits by category & amount

COMMITTEE REPORTS
Show Committee 

  • Christine:  As Mary is not on-line I do not have a report

Publicity: Rich Tarrington – No Report – not in attendance


Trophy Committee: Anne (No report)


Membership: Patti Gilmour (not in attendance but sent report)

  • Patti: ​Please welcome new probationary member: Robert Millsaps of Rams Boxers (Texas). 
  • Also, just a reminder to please renew your memberships by the end of the year. The 2015 renewal form​ is in the members' only area of the club web site.

Programme Committee: Lillian

  • Lillian: posted to program for Nov
  • also sent to list request for members to read and vote in the upcoming CKC  referendum

Discipline Committee:  Frank Rouse (Not in attendance)

  • Jenny reported – no cases therefore no report.

Obedience Committee:  Marta Nettelfield  - Not in attendance

  • Sandra: since Marta is not here I'll include a plug for the Chilliwack regional obed & rally april 2015

 

Awards Committee: Kristi Wagg – No Report - Not in attendance

Reading of General Correspondence:  Cindy Thomas (notin attendance)

  • Christine: Correspondence;  nothing has been forwarded and Cindy is not on-line

Special Service Committee: Deb Allardyce – No report - Not in attendance

Health Standards committee: Sandra Beck

  • Sandra: sent enquiry e-mail to CKC a month ago, no response.
  • following up through other channels

Good & Welfare: Lillian

  • Lillian: condolence sent to family of Scott McNair
    • Paul: We should have a moments silence for Scott
  • Rod Norris is at home now on oxygen 24/7

Old Business:  

  • Paul W: What happened to the proposals on meeting attendance
    • Christine: Paul- from the executive level nothing has been done.  We did not have our last meeting as Dave was unable to attend the meeting.  I will bring it up at the next meeting
    • Paul: Thanks Christine, as something as to be done.IMO
    • Christine: Paul- I agree with your comments.  I think as a club we need to find a way to attract better attendance at the meetings.  I have also suggested that if a member is unable to attend they should submitt the report in advance of the meeting.
    • Jenny: Also if we could feedback from Reg Directors at each meeing that would be great
  • Christine: Any members who wish to apply for a Regional Specialty in 2015  and want sponsorship from Royal Canin need to get application in to Cindy ASAP.
    • Royal Canin has a policy that all sponsorship requests from the Nation club must be submitted online in January or early Feb.`
  • Sandra: a while back I submitted a report to the executive from the "colour" committee with recommendations. I have heard nothing more. Did it get lost or???
    • Christine: Sandra I am not sure where your report is at.  Could I bring it up at the next meeting and get back to you at the next meeting
    • Jenny`: maybe you could forward the email and report again Sandra to each of the exec ps that we have it in front of us when Chrisitne brings it up at our next Exec meeting--just a thought
    • Christine: I recall a discussion regarding colours-- specifically black colour, but I am not sure what has since transpired.  We will get back to you.

New Business:

  • Lillian: just a reminder that as members of the 'CKC to read and digest the upcoming items on the referendum

Christine: Any other new or old business? If not...could I have a motion to adjourn
